To activate this feature, follow the procedure described on the main [“Additional Features”](https://docs.labkey.io/en/docs/plugin/) page.

Custom codes let you create personalized QR codes without having to follow our standard QR code creation procedures, and they can be fully managed through external devices, for greater flexibility.

With this feature you can also use short keypad codes, with a minimum of 4 digits instead of the usual 6.

The characters allowed for custom codes are all uppercase and lowercase letters and all numbers. Forbidden characters: ‘^£$%&*:§"!\ ()}àòùèéì?{@#~?><>,|=+¬- It is still recommended to use only letters and numbers, and avoid other special characters even if they are allowed.
