Control Unit Types: Light, Basic, PRO and ACCESS PRO 8, LTE

Overview of the available control unit models: Light, Basic, PRO, and LTE.

Light Control Unit

Light control unit

The Light control unit is designed for compact installations with a limited number of gates.

Hardware features:

  • Dimensions: 83 x 58 x 24 mm
  • 2 power relays rated 10A, with NO/NC dry contact
  • 12V power supply
  • Built-in backup battery, to keep the correct time even without power

Connectivity:

  • Built-in Wi-Fi, for cloud management through the Manage panel
  • Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), for programming and access even without an internet connection — see How to Connect to the Control Unit for Management
  • 433.92 MHz radio module, for pairing keypads and wireless devices

Features:

  • Manages up to 2 gates, with up to 4 connected command devices (Next, Mini, Glass, and Extreme ranges, with NFC, QR Code, or keypad readers)
  • Stand Alone mode: offline operation, with programmable time slots and dates
  • LabKey mobile app for local management via BLE and for remote and local access via BLE, with unlimited users and permissions

Basic, PRO (ACCESS PRO 8), and LTE Control Units

Basic, PRO, and LTE control units

Unlike the Light, the Basic, PRO, and LTE control units are built around a microprocessor core chip, sized for more complex installations: they manage up to 50,000 users (PRO version), with advanced counter, credit, and remote-opening functions (see Plugins to Extend the Software’s Capabilities)

Connectivity:

  • Basic: Wi-Fi
  • PRO: Wi-Fi or LAN cable (RJ45)
  • LTE: built-in LTE module with included SIM, IT/EU/Extra-EU coverage, with connectivity active for 5 or 10 years (optional antennas available to boost the signal in areas with weak reception)

On all models, connection to the command devices (readers, keypads) is via RS-485 bus.

Available configurations: 2, 4, or 8 relays (N/O), to manage up to 2, 4, or 8 gates respectively, with up to 4 or 8 command devices.

8-relay version: ACCESS PRO 8

ACCESS PRO 8

The 8-relay version lets you control up to 8 gates with a single control unit, instead of installing several 2- or 4-relay units: this reduces the overall cost of the system (a single control unit, a single power supply, a single cloud subscription) and significantly cuts down configuration time, since all gates are managed and programmed from a single panel.

  • Relays R1–R4: normally open (NO)
  • Relays R5–R8: configurable as normally open (NO) or normally closed (NC)
  • Standard plug-in power supply (12V 1A)
